is great in theory - but has some tricky elements in practice.
Sometimes the "insert plugin" just doesn't work the way you want it to. So what's a teacher to do?
Well ... you will need to become a code breaker. You can only do this in EDIT mode, so I will show you by video ... note that you can "Full-screen" the video by clicking the TV button at the bottom of the video.
Now, how did I embed that video into my wiki?
Well, you could use the "insert plugin" as there are video options. Sometimes, however, these just don't mesh with what you're trying to put in. In my case, "upload video" ends up hanging.
So here is a little video about embedding a video (in fact, about editing the videos on this very page!)
So, to recap:
1) Place some easy-to-find text to mark WHERE you want the video in your "regular edit view" side. Sometimes I use phrases (as on this page, as I already had video titles in mind). Other times I just put in a bunch of XXXXXXXXXXX because they're also easy to spot.
2) Then, just remember to highlight ALL of your marker, and paste your embed code over it. If you want your video to be on a new line, make sure you embed your code between the <p/> and </p> This code means "open new paragraph" and "close paragraph" or something like.
3) You'll have to hit "save" to actually see the video; in the non-source edit side you'll only be able to see the size of the video frame.
HOW TO FIX THE SIZE??
As you saw above, the video I embedded was really large - particularly as you can make a full-screen size view just by clicking on the video taskbar itself.
So, here is a video on what I did. You should know that in the end, I decided on a 2/3 of original size (rather than the half, as I did in the video). Once you finagle the numbers, you'll know how to change them to suit what you need. Also ... you can then use those same numbers for other videos of similar dimensions.
